Getting started with GROWTHplus

CAAT’s GROWTHplus Investment Account (GROWTHplus) is an optional savings account that allows you to grow your tax-sheltered savings together with the secure lifetime pension you have with CAAT.

This article will explain how to transfer-in your eligible savings into GROWTHplus.

We also recommend watching the tutorial video for a detailed step-by-step walkthrough on how to successfully transfer your eligible funds into GROWTHplus.

You can save with GROWTHplus if you are:

• An active, deferred or retired member of CAAT Pension Plan.
• Under the age of 70 and at any time before the end of the year you turn 70.
• A resident of Canada for income tax purposes.

Once you confirm your eligibility, you can initiate the transfer-in request online through your My Pension account or by calling CAAT’s member services team.

You will need your:

• My Pension login information, i.e. your email and password
• Eligible registered retirement savings account number and the name and full mailing address of the financial institution where your account is held.
• Social insurance number.

Please make sure that you review and confirm that your personal information is up to date and accurate.

• Enter in the total sum of the amount that you’ll be transferring into GROWTHplus, and whether it is the full or a partial amount from your eligible retirement savings account.
• When prompted, download the transfer-in package and bring the paperwork to your financial institution. 

• Log onto My Pension and monitor the status of your transfer-in request on your GROWTHplus dashboard. This way, you will see when your funds have been received by CAAT and successfully deposited.
