Effective date and eligibility

Who will join DBplus and when is the effective date?

• Ford Motor Company of Canada full-time and supplemental Plant Protection Officers who were hired on or after October 23, 2017, and who are participating in the Defined Contribution (DC) plan provisions of Ford’s Pension Plan #4 prior to January 1, 2026.
• Ford Motor Company of Canada full-time Plant Protection Officers who were hired/rehired on or after January 1, 2026.
• Ford Motor Company of Canada supplemental Plant Protection Officers who meet plan eligibility requirements on or after January 1, 2026.

When can supplemental Plant Protection Officers join DBplus?

Supplemental Plant Protection Officers who were not previously participating in Ford Pension Plan #4 prior to January 1, 2026 or were hired on or after January 1, 2026 will start participating in DBplus immediately when one of these conditions is met*:

• The employee has completed 700 hours of employment with Ford in each of the two consecutive calendar years immediately before joining DBplus.

OR

• The employee received earnings from Ford of at least 35% of the Year’s Maximum Pensionable Earnings (as defined in the Canada Pension Plan) in each of the two consecutive calendar years immediately before joining DBplus.
