What you need to do

1. Attend an education session

CAAT will hold in-person education sessions in the Learning Centre on November 19th and 20th. You will be assigned a session date and time based on your shift. At your session, you will receive a copy of the Contribution Choice Election Form, which is required to make your contribution choice.

2. Make your contribution choice

When you join the Plan, you will start contributing a portion of your base hourly wages, up to a maximum of 2,080 hours per year. Molson Coors will also contribute to the Plan on your behalf.

You will choose your contribution rate from the following options:

Contribution ChoiceYour ContributionsMolson Coors’ Contributions
Option 1*5.00%5.00%
Option 26.00%6.50%
Option 37.00%8.00%
Option 47.50%9.00%

*Default contribution rate if no choice is submitted

Contributions for employees assigned to the W.E.C. will be adjusted to be equivalent to contributions for regular employees working on a forty (40) hour schedule as outlined in the CBA.

To choose your contribution rate, you will be asked to submit the Contribution Choice Election Form by December 9. You will have the opportunity to fill the form during the education sessions on November 19 and 20 and return it onsite to Sabrina Lévesque.

If you choose to complete your form at a later date, you can submit it by email to TotalRewardsCanada@molsoncoors.com or by mail to:

Molson Coors Benefits Team
111, Robert-Bourassa Boulevard, 9th floor
Montréal, QC
H3C 2M1

If you do not have a copy of the form, you can request one from HR.

Note that your previous contribution rate under the defined contribution component of the Molson Canada Pension Plan for Hourly Employees in Ontario and Atlantic Canada (the Molson Plan) (administered by Manulife) will not be carried over into the CAAT Pension Plan.

If you do not submit a completed form by December 9, you will be enrolled in the Plan with a default contribution rate of 5% with a matching contribution of 5% from Molson Coors.

You will be able to change your contribution rate on a quarterly basis during a designated election window.

3. Estimate your pension

If you’re curious about what your future retirement income could look like, you can use CAAT’s pension estimator to model different retirement scenarios.

Your existing pension

Any pension you have already earned under the Molson Canada Pension Plan for Hourly Employees in Ontario and Atlantic Canada (‘the Molson Plan’) will remain in that plan and continue to be governed by its terms. No transfer of assets from the Molson Plan will be made during the life of the current collective agreement. If there is a wind up of the DC portion of the Molson Plan, the Employer will cooperate with allowing all legally permissible transfers to be made into CAAT from Members’ DC accounts that are affected by the wind up.

Pension earned under the CAAT Pension Plan will be a separate benefit, however future service in the CAAT Pension Plan will be used for the calculation of the 85 points in the DB Component of the Molson Plan. Employees will not lose their eligibility for an unreduced pension for the DB Component of the Molson Plan.

Please note that you will be responsible for managing and monitoring your benefits under the defined contribution component of the Molson Plan administered by Manulife.
