Both union and non-union employees at EHN Canada join a valuable defined benefits pension plan
Toronto, September 27, 2023 – Edgewood Health Network Canada (EHN Canada) has joined CAAT Pension Plan to provide its employees with a secure stable lifetime retirement income through DBplus. Eligible EHN Canada employees, including union and non-union positions, joined the Plan on July 9, 2023.
DBplus is an innovative workplace retirement solution that provides working Canadians with valuable lifetime pensions, all at a fixed contribution rate that employers can afford. Signature benefits include inflation protection and survivor benefits, provided by the Plan, with low risk to the employer.
"We are delighted to have EHN Canada employees join the Plan and enjoy valuable retirement benefits with DBplus," said Derek Dobson, CEO and Plan Manager, CAAT Pension Plan. "By joining our modern DB plan, EHN Canada is giving its employees a sustainable pension that provides financial security and stability. "
"Our employees and our management team recognize the importance of joining CAAT Pension Plan and DBplus for the tremendous value it represents," said Tammy Sergie, VP, People & Culture, EHN Canada. "We recognize that this is a win-win situation for our organization and employees. They enjoy a secure pension for life, while EHN Canada will see a boost in our recruitment and retention efforts. This move also simplifies the administration of our retirement plans."
EHN Canada joins other notable CAAT Pension Plan participating employers like Brink's Canada, Sanofi Pasteur, The Conference Board of Canada, Torstar, University of Saskatchewan, Vancouver Foundation, the Ontario Dental Association and Jamieson.
As of January 1, 2023, the CAAT Pension Plan had $18.2 billion in assets, an annualized 10-year net rate of return of 9.7%, and a healthy funding level of 124%.
