Spousal Waiver of Pre-Retirement Death Benefits

The CAAT Plan considers your spouse to be eligible for pre-retirement death benefits if they meet the definition of spouse based on your employment jurisdiction and have not waived pre-retirement survivor benefits, in accordance with applicable laws.

If your spouse wishes to waive their rights to a pre-retirement survivor benefit, they must request it directly, in accordance with applicable laws. Contact the Plan to obtain the spousal waiver form that applies to your employment jurisdiction. You and your spouse should seek legal and financial advice before making such a decision.
